When you hire a gulet in Bodrum or elsewhere you're taking part in a centuries-old tradition. Wooden gulets feature sweeping lines and two or three masts and were originally used for fishing and sponge diving. In recent decades they have evolved into floating hotels with many being purpose-built following traditional designs.
Gulets are between 20 and 30 metres in length with each one having a unique layout created to provide anything from two to eight or more cabins.
