    About Rogoznica

Rogoznica is a quiet Mediterranean tourist town situated on the southernmost part of Sibenik-Knin County on the Dalmatian coast. Covered with dense forest and classic old stone houses, Rogoznica lies in a deep, protected bay, sheltered from the wind and open water, which makes it an ideal stopping point on your sailing holiday in Croatia. While Rogoznica has a large influx of tourists each year, it’s still predominantly a farming and fishing town, so you can expect to find some excellent fresh seafood when you visit. Only a short sail from the beautiful destinations of Omis, Split and Makarska, Rogoznica is full of opportunities to explore the nearby towns, laze on its lovely beaches and relax in its pristine waters.

Rogoznica’s coastline is scattered with small islands and secluded bays, so chartering a boat will allow you the opportunity to explore them all yourself. Rogoznica’s marina is known as one of the most beautiful on the Adriatic Sea. Built on an artificial island, it has 450 berths, cafes, bars, restaurants, hotels, a sports centre, a swimming pool and a nightclub.

Like most other Croatian cities and towns, Rogoznica has a rich cultural and historical background. Some of the most notable monuments to check out include the church of St. John of Trogir and the church of St. Nicholas, both built in the 14th century, and Our Lady of the Chapel.

While in Rogoznica, be sure to check out ‘The Eye of the Dragon’ – an incredible salt-water lake. Irregular in shape, the lake is surrounded with large jagged cliffs reaching 24m above sea level, which adrenalin-seeking visitors love to jump from.

One of the most popular beaches in Rogoznica is Sepurine, a pebbly beach with pure water, deck chairs and a café and restaurant. Alternatively, you can sail around to Velika Raduka beach in Primosten, another popular spot during the summer.

If you visit in August, you might be lucky enough to experience ‘Fisherman’s Night’, one of the most popular summer events in Rogoznica where the town lights up with music, entertainment and gastronomic delights like local seafood, wine, olive oil and bread.

Rogoznica is also a popular destination for hiking and water sports, and there are also a number of deep-sea diving centres in the area that can provide you with equipment to explore the underwater beauty of its coast.
